We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and subscription to the dLibrary Japan service. As we continuously strive to enhance your streaming experience, we would like to inform you about some important changes to the dLibrary Japan service and the suspension of service.
We have already ceased accepting new contracts and stopped resume service procedures as of September 1. Additionally, the paid service will end on September 30. We assure existing subscribers* can continue to enjoy the programs without any charges through October. However, the service will be temporarily suspended from November 1.

While we are eager to launch the new service and plan to commence service within the fiscal year 2023 (until March 2024), we will promptly notify you via email as soon as the service launch date is confirmed. Our team is working diligently to ensure the new service offers an array of Japanese content and a seamless viewing experience.

Action Required: Cancellation of Subscription

If you have registered through any of the mentioned platforms, we request that you cancel your subscription directly within your selected platform service before September 30th. Please be aware that platforms such as Apple, Roku, Google, and Amazon will charge you for the upcoming month if you do not cancel before your renewal anniversary date.

Transition to Enhanced Service for Subscribers as of September 1st
For subscribers as of September 1st*, we will grant you access to watch without any charges from October 1st to 31st.

*Customers who canceled before September 1st are not eligible

We understand that cancellation might raise questions about your access to the service. Depending on your payment date in September, there may be a period during which you cannot view the service after cancellation. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and offer the following options to consider:

Option 1: Cancel by the payment date in September of this month:

Please be aware that there might be a service interruption after cancellation. This option ensures you won't be charged for the next month.

Option 2: Renew Subscription and Cancel during September:

If you choose to renew your subscription during September, we recommend canceling the service afterward. This way, you can continue enjoying uninterrupted access until October 31st.

Customers subscribed to the service as of September 1, 2023, can view the service for October without charging. Please refer to How to Cancel and FAQ .

• Access [My Account].
• Click "Cancel" to initiate the cancellation process.
• Please note that logging in from the dLibrary Japan website or app is only available in the United States and Canada. For other countries, cancellation must be made in advance if you plan to return to Japan or relocate outside the United States or Canada.

1. Open your device settings.
2. Select "Apple ID" (located at the top of the settings page).
3. Tap "Subscriptions" and choose the d Library Japan icon for cancellation.

1. Access Apple TV settings.
2. Navigate to "Users and Accounts."
3. Select your "Account name."
4. Go to "Subscriptions" and choose d Library Japan.

1. Open the Google Play Store on your device.
2. Tap your profile icon located at the top right.
3. Access "Payments & subscriptions" → "Subscriptions."
4. Select the d Library Japan icon.
5. Tap "Cancel subscription" and follow the on-screen prompts to cancel.

• Log in to the Roku website (roku.com or roku.ca).
• Visit "My account" and choose "Manage your subscriptions."
• Alternatively, set up the d Library Japan app.
• Within the app's menu, select "My Account" or the My Account icon (displaying the first letter of your name) → Settings → Payment Information → Cancel.

• Navigate to "Your Account."

Q. Why is the dLibrary Japan service being suspended?

A. We are gearing up to launch an updated streaming distribution service to enhance the dLibrary Japan experience. A temporary suspension is necessary to prepare and implement this new service.

Q. What does the service suspension entail?

A. During the suspension, the current dLibrary Japan service will be temporarily unavailable. We are refreshing the service's appearance to offer even more engaging content. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience until service is restored.

Q. How will the new service differ from dLibrary Japan?

A. The new streaming distribution service will offer Japanese content on-demand across smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and personal computers, similar to dLibrary Japan. Additionally, we are introducing the option to view NHK news, enhancing your streaming experience.

Q. When is the new service expected to launch?

A. We aim to introduce the new service within the fiscal year 2023, up until March 2024. Please stay tuned for updates.

Q. Will programs watched on dLibrary Japan be available on the new service?

A. The availability of currently distributed programs on the new service is still being determined. We recommend enjoying your preferred programs on dLibrary Japan before the suspension takes effect. Please note that the service will terminate after October 31st.

A. Pricing details for the new service are still under consideration.

Q. Will I need to re-register for the new service?

A. Yes, the new service is being developed independently. You must download the new app and complete the registration process again. We will provide instructions for downloading the new app once it's ready. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support.

Q. I'm unsure if I registered via the website, iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Roku, Android, or Amazon Fire TV. How can I confirm?

A. Please log in to dLibrary Japan's website using your email address and password. Click on the person icon in the upper right corner, then select "My Account" from the menu. You can confirm registration under the "Manage your subscriptions via Apple/ROKU" section at the bottom of the Plan and Subscription details. If you registered via the website, "Manage your subscriptions via" will not appear. If you can't determine how you registered, please contact customer support.
* Please note: The apps cannot confirm registration by device. You can only check this via the website.

Q. Can I get a refund for charges from Apple (Roku, Google or Amazon) if I forgot to cancel?

A. Unfortunately, refunds are not possible. Please ensure you cancel before the next payment date to avoid additional charges.

Q. My billing date is September 15th. How can I continue watching until September 30th?

A. To enjoy uninterrupted viewing until September 30th, please make the payment on your September 15th billing date. Subscribers can access the service without charge from October 1st to 31st. By paying on September 15th, you'll enjoy complimentary access from October 15th to 31st.

Q. I registered from the website. Will I be charged from October onwards if I don't cancel in September?

A. No, if you registered through the website, you will not be charged from October onwards, even if you do not cancel in September. However, for those with upcoming charges in September and continuing with payment, the period without charge will be less than one month in October. If you cancel and your anniversary date is mid-month, you will not have access to the content until September 30th, but starting from October 1st, you can watch without any charges.

Q. Will deleting the app cancel my subscription?

A. NO. Deleting the app from your device does not cancel your subscription. Refer to the cancellation process for subscribers registered through the App Store, Google Play Store, Roku, and Amazon Fire TV.

Q. What happens if I forget to cancel before the suspension?

A. For Website Registrants: Even if you don't cancel, you can watch without charges from October 1st to 31st. You can conveniently use your existing ID and password to access content during this time.

For iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Roku, Android, Amazon Fire TV Users: Please ensure you cancel your subscription during September. If not, Apple, Roku, Google, and Amazon will charge you on your next payment date. For subscribers as of September 1st will have access without charges from October 1st to 31st, post-cancellation. You can conveniently use your existing ID and password to access content during this time.

Q. When can new subscribers register again? I canceled before August 31, 2023. Can I resume my service?

A. We regret to inform you that new registrations and service resumptions will be suspended as of September 1. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Kindly await the introduction of the new service. Once the start date for the new service is confirmed, we will promptly notify customers who are subscribed to the dLibrary Japan service via email.
